Peter Jay is a passionate musician based in New Jersey, celebrated for his exceptional skills as a violinist and violist. With a deep appreciation for world music, Peter primarily focuses on Scottish traditions, blending original compositions with time-honored melodies. His live performances also incorporate his harp playing and vocals.
His debut album, Dear Self, features a captivating mix of original and traditional music that highlights his diverse musical influences. Peter Jay is currently working on his upcoming album, Aig an Taigh, which will primarily showcase original compositions alongside some beloved traditional Scottish songs, further enriching his artistic journey.
Throughout his career, Peter has premiered orchestral scores and has had the privilege of performing with notable ensembles, including Final Fantasy: Distant Worlds and alongside Wang Leehom. His own compositions for full orchestra were premiered by the Metrowest Symphony Orchestra in Natick, MA, in 2019, showcasing his talent as a composer.
In 2022, Peter founded PULSE: A Celtic Connection, a band dedicated to bridging traditional and contemporary Celtic music, creating a dynamic and engaging experience for all audiences.
